Permit process note
A permit is required for roof replacements; no permit is required for a repair under 100 square feet. Roofs must carry a Class A fire rating and meet high-wind standards (ASTM D7158 Class G or H, or ASTM D3161 Class F). Ice and water shield is required on all eaves (minimum one 3-foot-wide strip), and valleys require minimum 24-inch-wide corrosion-resistant metal.
